DRDO DRL Tezpur JRF & Research Associate Recruitment 2026 – Walk-in Interview for 15 Posts

The DRDO DRL Tezpur JRF Recruitment 2026 notification has been released for candidates interested in research careers in life sciences, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, and environmental sciences. The recruitment is being conducted by the Defence Research Laboratory, which functions under the Defence Research and Development Organisation of the Government of India. This recruitment drive invites applications for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Research Associate (RA) positions. These positions are meant for young researchers who want to contribute to ongoing and future research projects conducted by the laboratory. DRL plays a major role in developing technologies related to life sciences, biotechnology, environmental sciences, and chemical sciences for defence applications. A total of 15 fellowship positions are available in this recruitment. Out of these, 9 positions are for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and 6 positions are for Research Associate (RA). Candidates selected for the JRF post will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹37,000 plus House Rent Allowance (HRA), while Research Associates will receive ₹67,000 per month plus HRA. The JRF fellowship will initially be awarded for two years. Based on performance and project requirements, the fellowship may be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and extended up to four years. The RA fellowship will be for a period of two years. Candidates with postgraduate degrees such as MSc, MTech, MPharm, MVSc, along with NET, GATE, or GPAT qualification, are eligible for JRF positions depending on the subject area. Similarly, candidates who have completed a PhD in relevant disciplines such as biotechnology, chemistry, polymer science, life sciences, or horticulture can apply for the Research Associate posts. The selection process will be conducted through a walk-in interview. Interested candidates must first send their CV via email before the deadline, after which they need to attend the interview in person at the DRL campus. The interview will take place at the DRL facility located in Tezpur. Candidates attending the interview must carry their original academic certificates, Aadhaar card, research publications (if any), and a set of photocopies of all documents.
