South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL) and one of the largest coal-producing companies in the country, has released an internal notification inviting applications from eligible departmental employees for the post of Telecom/Radio Mechanic T&S Grade-D. This departmental selection is exclusively meant for permanent and regular employees currently working within SECL, and no external candidates are eligible to apply. The SECL Telecom Radio Mechanic T&S Grade-D Recruitment 2026 has been announced under Ref. No. SECL/BSP/HR/NEE/2026/Notification/550 dated 05 June 2026. A total of 65 vacancies are available under this notification, distributed across reserved and unreserved categories as per the approved manpower budget for the financial year 2025–26. This is a merit-based written test selection, making it a fair and transparent opportunity for eligible employees looking to upgrade their grade and expand their responsibilities in the telecom discipline. Eligible SECL employees who meet the prescribed educational and service-related criteria as on the cutoff date of 31 May 2026 can apply through the official SECL internal selection portal. The online application window opens on 11 June 2026 and the last date for applicants to submit their form is 01 July 2026. All applications must be submitted through the designated online portal only — offline forms will not be entertained under any circumstances. To be eligible for this post, an employee must either hold a Class 10 / Matriculation qualification under the 10+2 scheme with at least one year of service in Category IV or Technical & Supervisory Grade-E and above, and must possess an aptitude for the telecom discipline. Alternatively, any permanent company employee holding a Class 10 / Matriculation qualification along with an ITI certificate in Electronics or equivalent trade is also eligible to apply. Employees originally appointed at a higher grade than T&S Grade-D are not permitted to apply. However, those in the same or lower grades — such as DR Category I through VI, DR Excavation Grade-E, MR T&S Grades D through H, and Clerk Grades II and III — are eligible to apply provided they satisfy all other criteria. The selection process for this post is entirely based on a written examination. The written test will be conducted in MCQ format on OMR sheets, containing 100 questions for a total of 100 marks. There is no negative marking. The exam is divided into three sections: Subject Knowledge (60 marks), Mental Ability / Quantitative Ability / Logical & Reasoning Skills (20 marks), and General Awareness including knowledge about CIL/SECL and the states of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh (20 marks). General category candidates must score at least 40% to qualify, while SC/ST category candidates need a minimum of 30%. In the event of a tie in marks between two or more candidates, the merit list will be resolved using the date of initial appointment, followed by date of birth (older candidates ranked higher), and finally alphabetical order of names — all verified from SAP records. Applicants must ensure their confidential annual report (ACR) for the financial year 2024–25 is not rated as "Poor," as such a rating will lead to automatic cancellation of the application. Additionally, a mandatory attendance requirement applies: candidates must have attended work for a minimum of 240 days (surface) or 190 days (underground) across the combined period of June 2025 to May 2026, inclusive of sanctioned leave. The written examination will be organized centrally by SECL Headquarters, Bilaspur. Admit cards will be made available for download through the internal selection portal. The exam date and venue will be announced separately on the portal and SECL's official website. Candidates selected through this process will be posted at any area or unit of SECL based on vacancies and operational requirements. Once posted, if a selected employee refuses to join or later requests cancellation of their selection, they will be barred from participating in any non-officer cadre selection within SECL for a period of two years from the date of the cancellation order.
