The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Junior Engineers in Civil and Electrical disciplines for Panel Year 2026. This is a golden opportunity for engineering graduates and diploma holders to secure a prestigious central government job with one of the most reputed financial institutions in the country. The RBI JE Recruitment 2026 is open to candidates across India, with vacancies distributed across five recruitment zones — East, West, North, South, and Central. A total of 11 posts are available: 7 for Junior Engineer (Civil) and 4 for Junior Engineer (Electrical). These numbers may be revised by the Bank depending on operational requirements. Junior Engineer (Civil) will be responsible for handling and overseeing civil construction, maintenance, interior work, and building infrastructure in RBI offices and residential colonies. Junior Engineer (Electrical) will manage and supervise electrical installations including HT/LT substations, AC systems, lifts, DG sets, CCTV, UPS systems, and fire alarm systems in RBI's office buildings and residential complexes. Candidates applying for this recruitment must fall within the age bracket of 20 to 30 years as of April 1, 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Government of India norms. For educational qualification, candidates with a Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering (minimum 3 years, with 65% marks) or a Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (with 55% marks) from a recognized institution are eligible. Relaxed percentage criteria apply for SC/ST/PwBD candidates. In addition to educational qualifications, relevant work experience is mandatory — 2 years for diploma holders and 1 year for degree holders, or a 1-year graduate apprenticeship in a PSU. The selection process for RBI JE 2026 consists of a national-level Online Examination worth 300 marks followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The online exam comprises four sections: English Language, Engineering Discipline Paper I, Engineering Discipline Paper II, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. There is negative marking — one-fourth of marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer. After qualifying the online exam, shortlisted candidates will appear for the LPT in the official/local language of their respective recruitment zone. Final selection is based on merit in the online exam, LPT qualification, medical fitness, and document verification. Selected candidates will initially be posted within their applied recruitment zone but may be transferred to any RBI office across India. The starting basic pay is ₹47,700/- per month, with a gross monthly package of approximately ₹91,309/-, along with house rent allowance, medical reimbursement, festival advances, housing and personal loans at concessional rates, and other perquisites. Applications must be submitted online through the official RBI website (www.rbi.org.in) between April 16 and May 6, 2026. Candidates are advised to apply well before the deadline and keep all required documents ready for upload, including photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.
