Punjab National Bank (PNB), one of India's most trusted and largest public sector banks, has released an official notification for the recruitment of 30 Specialist Officers in the engineering discipline for the year 2026. The vacancies are open for Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers at the Junior Management Grade (JMG) Scale I level. PNB SO Recruitment 2026 invites online applications from eligible candidates between 21st April 2026 and 5th May 2026. The selection process will primarily involve an Online Written Test followed by a Personal Interview, or a direct Interview-based shortlisting depending on the number of applicants for each post. As a Specialist Officer – Engineer at PNB, selected candidates will handle end-to-end project responsibilities including planning and estimation of construction and renovation works for bank buildings, site supervision, quality control, procurement of services, empanelment of contractors and architects, bill scrutiny, and reporting to CTE/CVC. Engineers in the electrical and mechanical stream will also handle AMC management, energy-saving initiatives like solar installations, green buildings, and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment such as UPS systems, generators, lifts, and air conditioning units. The minimum educational requirement for all three engineering posts is a B.E./B.Tech degree in the respective discipline with at least 60% marks from a recognized university, along with a minimum of one year of post-qualification work experience in relevant construction, renovation, or maintenance activities. Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years of age as on 1st January 2026, with standard relaxations available for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates. Selected candidates will be placed on the pay scale applicable to JMG Scale I officers and will also receive a comprehensive benefits package including Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or leased accommodation, Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance, and retirement benefits as per bank rules. Candidates must be willing to serve at any location across India, as postings will be determined entirely by the bank's operational requirements. An Indemnity Bond worth ₹3 lakh is required if the candidate leaves the bank within 3 years of joining. The online written test, if conducted, is tentatively scheduled for 27th May 2026. It covers Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Professional Knowledge. The exam will be held across major cities in India including Imphal and Churachandpur in Manipur. This is a limited-vacancy recruitment with only 30 posts across three engineering streams, making it highly competitive.
