The Meghalaya High Court Civil Judge (Junior Division) Recruitment 2026 is a major opportunity for law graduates who wish to build a career in the judicial system. The High Court of Meghalaya has announced 10 vacancies for the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division)-cum-Judicial Magistrate First Class under direct recruitment. This recruitment drive is conducted under the Meghalaya Judicial Service Rules, 2006 (as amended). The selection process will be conducted in three stages: Preliminary Examination (Objective Type – MCQ) Final Written Examination (Descriptive) Viva-Voce / Personality Test The Preliminary Examination will carry 100 marks and will be conducted using OMR sheets. It will cover major laws such as IPC/BNS, CrPC/BNSS, Evidence Act, Constitution of India, CPC, Limitation Act, and other important statutes. Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary stage will be shortlisted for the Main Written Examination. The written test consists of four papers including English, Law Papers, and a local language paper (Khasi or Garo). The total marks for the written stage are 370. After the written examination, shortlisted candidates will appear for the Viva-Voce which carries 30 marks. Final selection will be based on aggregate marks secured in the written examination and interview.
