The High Court of Punjab and Haryana, through the Society for Centralized Recruitment of Staff in Subordinate Courts (S.S.S.C.), has officially announced a major recruitment drive for 1265 Clerk posts in the Subordinate Courts of Haryana. This is a golden opportunity for graduates across Haryana who are seeking a stable and reputable government job in the legal and judicial sector. The Punjab and Haryana High Court SSSC Clerk Recruitment 2026 is one of the largest judicial recruitment drives in the state this year. With 1015 existing vacancies as of December 2025 and 250 more anticipated posts expected by June 2026, this recruitment offers a wide range of openings across various categories including General, Scheduled Caste (Deprived and Other), Backward Classes A and B, Economically Weaker Sections, Ex-Servicemen, Eligible Sports Persons, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. Candidates who hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), or an equivalent degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply. In addition to the degree, applicants must be proficient in computer operations — specifically Word Processing and Spreadsheets. A strong understanding of Hindi is also necessary, as candidates must have studied Hindi or Sanskrit at the Matriculation level or above. The selection for the Clerk post will take place in three stages. First, candidates will appear for a Computer Based Test (CBT) that covers General Knowledge and English Composition, including both objective and subjective questions. This is the most important stage, as the final merit list is prepared solely on the basis of CBT scores. Candidates who clear the CBT will then move on to the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), which is qualifying in nature and tests spreadsheet skills and English typing speed. Finally, shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. The exam pattern is well-structured and rewards accuracy — there is a negative marking of one-fourth mark for every wrong answer in the MCQ section. Candidates must score at least 33% in each subject and 40% in aggregate to qualify the CBT. The subjective portion, which includes essay writing, letter writing, précis writing, and Hindi-to-English translation, will only be evaluated for those who clear the General Knowledge section. One of the key features of this recruitment is that it is open to candidates from across different reservation categories under Haryana's rules. However, it is important to note that reservation benefits are available only to bonafide residents of Haryana. Candidates belonging to reserved categories from other states must apply under the General (Unreserved) category. Appointed clerks will be required to serve anywhere in Haryana as per the posting needs of the Subordinate Courts. This is a permanent and pensionable position that comes with all standard government benefits including dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and other applicable perks under Haryana government norms. Applications must be submitted strictly through the official SSSC website at sssc.gov.in. The portal opens on 26 May 2026 at 4:00 PM and closes on 23 June 2026 at 4:00 PM. Candidates are strongly advised not to wait until the last moment and to keep all necessary documents, a working email ID, and mobile number ready before starting the application. This Haryana Clerk Recruitment 2026 is especially significant because it also includes a large number of backlog vacancies being advertised for the second or third time, giving reserved category candidates additional opportunities that were not filled in earlier drives. With 1265 total posts available and a transparent merit-based selection process, this recruitment is a must-apply for any eligible graduate in Haryana looking for a government job in 2026.
