RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 371 Posts

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), headquartered in Ajmer, has officially announced the RPSC APO Recruitment 2026 to fill 371 vacancies for the post of Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) under the Prosecution Department of Rajasthan. This is a golden opportunity for law graduates aspiring to build a rewarding career in government legal services. The RPSC Assistant Prosecution Officer Recruitment 2026 is governed under the Rajasthan Prosecution Subordinate Service, 1978, and the associated Rules of 2014. The online application window opens on 08 June 2026 and closes on 07 July 2026. All eligible candidates must apply exclusively through the official SSO portal of Rajasthan. The 371 vacancies are split between Non-Scheduled Area (355 posts) and Scheduled Area (15 posts), with one additional post. Reservations are provided for SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS, and Unreserved categories, along with horizontal reservation for women (General and Widow/Divorcee) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). To be eligible for RPSC APO 2026, a candidate must hold a completed Law degree (LLB or integrated law course) from a recognised Indian university. Importantly, candidates who are still pursuing their final year of law at the time of applying are not eligible. Additionally, working knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagri script is mandatory, along with familiarity with Rajasthani dialects and customs. The selection procedure consists of two stages. First is a Preliminary Examination of objective (MCQ) type, which serves only as a qualifying round — its marks do not count toward the final merit list. The second stage is the Main Written Examination comprising a Law paper (300 marks) and a Language paper covering General Hindi and General English (100 marks), totalling 400 marks. Final merit is determined solely on the basis of the Main Examination. The law syllabus includes major criminal statutes such as the Indian Penal Code 1860, Indian Evidence Act 1872, Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, and the newer Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023, and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, along with special acts like POCSO 2012 and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989. The language paper is at Senior Secondary (Class XII) level. Candidates are required to complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the Rajasthan SSO portal before they can submit the application form. A live photograph, thumb impression, and signature upload are part of the online process. The application fee is non-refundable and varies by category. The pay scale on appointment will be as per Pay Matrix Level L-11 (Grade Pay Rs. 4,200/-), with fixed monthly pay during probation as per Rajasthan Government norms. Post-confirmation, candidates are entitled to DA, HRA, TA, and other state government benefits. This RPSC APO Government Job 2026 is an excellent avenue for law graduates in Rajasthan to enter public service, contribute to the state's prosecution machinery, and build a secure, respected career in the legal domain.
