Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), one of Maharashtra's most well-funded and progressive urban local bodies, has officially released its Apprentice Trainee Recruitment Notification for the year 2026-27. This is a golden opportunity for ITI-qualified candidates in the Pune Metropolitan Region and across Maharashtra to gain structured, government-recognised training experience under a leading municipal corporation. A total of 407 apprenticeship vacancies have been announced across 12 different ITI trades, including high-demand fields like COPA, Electrician, Wireman, Desktop Operating, Plumber, and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician, among others. The engagement is carried out under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, which governs apprenticeship training across India and ensures candidates receive a monthly stipend as prescribed by the Central Government. This PCMC Apprentice Trainee Recruitment 2026 is open exclusively to candidates who have passed their ITI from a Government-recognised Industrial Training Institute in the relevant trade during the years 2023, 2024, or 2025. Candidates who completed their ITI before 2023 are not eligible to apply, and neither are individuals who have already completed an apprenticeship elsewhere or are currently enrolled as apprentices in any other organisation. The entire application process is a two-stage procedure. First, candidates must register and apply online through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) Portal at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, using PCMC's Establishment Code E05202701091. The online window is open from 27 April 2026 to 06 May 2026. Following the online application, candidates must physically submit self-attested copies of all required documents at the Industrial Training Department, Morwadi, Pimpri Chinchwad, between 27 April 2026 and 08 May 2026 (excluding Sundays, during office hours). Both stages are compulsory — skipping either one will result in disqualification. The selection will be strictly merit-based, determined by ITI final year marks and applicable reservation categories as per Government of India and Maharashtra Government norms. Reservation benefits are available for SC, ST, OBC, SEBC, VJ, NT, EWS, and PwD candidates. The selected candidates list and waiting list will be published only on the official PCMC website (www.pcmcindia.gov.in), and no individual communication will be sent by post or email. One important prerequisite for all applicants is that their Aadhaar number must be seeded and linked with their bank account, and the bank account must be DBT-enabled. The monthly stipend is disbursed exclusively through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), so this step is non-negotiable. Candidates must ensure this is done before applying. After appointment, biometric attendance registration is mandatory, and apprentices must maintain regular daily attendance. The apprenticeship completion certificate will be issued only upon successful completion of the full training period. Importantly, this engagement is purely temporary in nature — PCMC is under no obligation to offer any permanent position to apprentices after training concludes. For the COPA (PASA) trade specifically, preference in selection will be given to candidates who have cleared Marathi or English typewriting examinations.
