AP Senior Residents Recruitment 2026 – 234 Vacancies

The Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has released Notification No. 2/2026 dated 10-07-2026, inviting online applications from eligible postgraduate doctors for the post of Senior Resident across various Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals in the state. Preference is given to Local Candidates of Andhra Pradesh state, meaning applicants who have studied at least four years continuously from 4th to 10th standard within the state. In cases where candidates studied in Telangana between 4th and 10th standard due to circumstances before the state bifurcation, and later migrated to Andhra Pradesh, an appropriate certificate from revenue authorities is required as proof of local candidature, in line with G.O.Ms.No.132 and 133. Non-local candidates who possess valid AP Medical Council registration will only be considered for Senior Residency positions if local candidates are not available for a particular post. Age is also a key eligibility factor in this recruitment. General candidates must not have crossed 44 years of age as on the date of notification. However, a relaxed upper age limit of 50 years applies to candidates applying for pre-clinical and para-clinical subjects, which include Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, and Forensic Medicine. Regarding remuneration, selected Senior Residents in Broad Specialties will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs. 80,500 as per G.O.Ms. No. 723, HM&FW (C1) Department, dated 04-12-2024. This is a tenured contractual position for a period of one year, and selected candidates are required to compulsorily complete the full one-year tenure once appointed.
